Default 80 rotary top trans mainshaft tolerance??

80 rotary top trans (type with no mainshaft key) With the chain

sprocket on, how much in and out play is normal. I have .017 in

and out. I wanted to see how tight it would be before I put gasket

sealer in. So I put it together first. I also don't have 110 lbs of

torque on the nut yet either. The spacer that fits over the main

drive gear. Seems to be hitting the main drive gear, before the

transmission case, causing the slop in and out. I am no great

mechanic. But .017 seems like enough to cause a leak before long.

Thanks in advance to all that reply
