Default Tranny slip.

Is there a way to tell if the clutch is bad without disassembly? Lately it seems a little more sluggish than normal yet the RPM's sound normal. I really notice it when cruising and I decide to kick it down a gear or two and twist the throttle.

In a higher gear lay on the throttle. If the engine speeds upbut the bike sits there at the same speed, the clutch is bad.

You might want to check the adjustment first. If it is out of adjustment you could "smoke it" trying to test it that way. Once you are sure it is in adjustment then check it like rbabos told you to. If it slips then it was shot anyway!!

My mistake. I just assumed that would have already been checked. Yes , don't burn it out first and then adjust
