Default Primary part number question

For all you Harley OEM part # gurus, what is the differnece between a outer primary cover with the OEM part # 60506-89 and OEM part# 60506-89A. I know the last two numbers are for the year and the outer primary did not change for an evo until 1994 (when they went with a smaller shaft for the starter), but what's up with the "A" on the end of the part number?[/align]

The "A" is stamped on the inside of my cover after the 60506-89, so it can't mean obsolete.

Default RE: Primary part number question

The first part of the part number is the part number, the number after the dash is the year that part was first introduced. The letters after the year indicated a change, it could a little different machining, or a reinforcing web added, etc. Hope this helps.
