Measuring for clutch cable??

Measuring for clutch cable??
Here is my question...since I got rid of the semi buckhorns that my 96' lowrider came with, and went to a semi pullback, my clutch cable is way too long. I want to replace it with a braided clutch cable, or at least the part of it that comes out of the clutch handle and then connects to the secone or lower half on the frame. How do I know what to order?? My current cable is 68" from the factory. Do I just order a shorter cable or does it have to be bike and year specific?? Thanks

RE: Measuring for clutch cable??
You will have to order the whole cable. Not positive and Evo but pretty sure Evo and Twin use same cable. Most web sites have referance pages. Mine was to long when I went with drag bars and I got the Chromite (Magnum Shielding) clutch. I also have the HD throtal cables and Goodrich break. The Chromite after 2 years are by far the best.Still bright silver unlike the other 2 brands. Its kind of a crap shoot but disconnect it at your lever and pull back till the leingth is right and measure how much extra you have then subtract from 68 inches. Don't get to short or will bind or rub tank when bars are turned full.
