Default Another leak issue

I thought I had a tranny mailshaft leak, but I just pulled it down & it looks like its coming from around where the rear shift linkage shaft comes outa the tranny.

What is supposed to seal this? All that's on the outside is a snap-ring just inside the spline.

Remove the snap ring... then remove the washer...

There is a seal that is a PITA to remove if you don't do it right....

THIN blade screwdriver, and gently pry it out....

DON'T SCRATCH THE BORE.... Replace the seal and be VERY careful reinstalling the new one... Tape over the splines of the shift shaft, so the seal doesn't get frayed on the lip... Use a small socket to bottom it out... Reinstall washer and replace snap-ring with a new one....

Badda-Bing, yer done.....
