offset primary questions
Ok first off I want to throw a 240-60mm rear tire on my 07 nightrain, now looking at the PM phatail setup and reading their downloaded pdf installation sheets it seems like all you need to move is 1/4" of an offset. I gathered the 1/4" off the Heartland site.
What the PM kit shows me is all spacers and one offset pulley sprocket. and thats it.....I can build my own swingarm so thats no $, and already have a fender blank with my own custom aluminum struts.
What I'm hoping for is someone on here to help me understand what I really need to do and where I need to put the spacers, because this whole compensator thingy is ****in with my brain. Also I believe I can get most of these parts machined except for the pulley sprocket, and primary spacer which is readily available elsewhere.
How critical is the compensator and stator spacers by the way?
this is the offset section of the PM pdf file:

RE: offset primary questions
The big spacer with the holes around it go between the engine and the inner primary, the little spacers go between the inner primary and the tranny. The compensator and stator spacersalong with the clutch spacer align the primary drive and are critical. With only a 1/4" offset you shouldn't have to get a longer starter drive. While you can buy these parts seperately some times the time spent along with the wrong peices purchased make buying the kit worthwhile. Plus you get tech support!!!
