Put the Baker DD6 in this spring & love it. 15,000 miles later & it is great. Try shopping around for internet sales & save a bunch on the gear set.

Has anyone had any experience with the Revtech 6 speed conversion for the Evo? You use the stock case and slide the new gearset in.

Take a look at the Ultima six speed for evo's. I have one and have put 12,000 miles on it and no problems. You can pick the complete trans up for under $700 at Jireh Cycles.

Had the HD Screaming Eagle 6-speed (w/od) gear setput in a couple weeks ago and love it. The 6th speed is a 1:.885 overdrive and is just what I needed. Use to keep trying to shift into the next gear at around 70 mph and it was never there... just bent my toes.
Now I can shift into 6th and at 80 mph feel as though the bike's running 70mph...couldn't be more pleased with my decision....

I went with the Ultima 6 speed builders kit. Very little mods if at all and a well built unit. JMHO

It's strickly a personal preference in a lot of ways. The best is the Baker DDR6 BUT it is the MOST expensive, by far. I know guys running the Jap made 6 speeds and they have not had any trouble at all. Personally, I wouldn't buy HD just because for several years they offered the SE 6 speed as an add-on, making up pay for a transmission twice!

Howdy,

If you don't mind my asking, what did you pay for the total job, tranny and install?

Thanks,
