But why do you eyeball primary and would be ok just dumping in the manuals amount for tranny? Which is what I do for both unless I have had them apart. Just curious why it upset you so much when I said dump what the manual specs in for primary.

Anyone who is interested in this thread please put the disruptive poster into your ignore list so it does not disrupt this thread about an actual (not make believe) motorcycle.

It would appear you are the disruptive one. I am saying how I replaced mine with I believe a baker. I did have wear marks from clutch cable After market is a lot thicker. Also discussing how this was a topic on forums at one point. Also saying I want a dipstick because I have had level issues.

You just want to talk about me.

Interesting they quit making them after 5 speeds.

The end coming off was a thing some years back. Has not been a issue for a long time.

I agree none of my transmission have leaked at least sense 1996. So never worry about the level.. When I dump it I know how much comes out so pretty good idea if something is not right.

I never had the interested party on ignore, mostly out of morbid curiosity, but I just now took your advice.

I am so curious what on this thread? That started to n topic. Was it that I replaced mine with a baker about 20 years ago that has you sticking your head in sand?

Or how my tranny has leaked, so I like a dip stick? What pushed you over the edge?

Oops, I missed that dan was the OP..

FWIW, I had a pulley come loose on my 02 RK and the ratting around for few miles wore down the pulley spacer some, pulley splines and dumped swarf into the tranny. When I pulled the drain plug there was a big ball of metallic mud on the drain plug.. I pulled the primary, replaced the pulley and resurfaced the spacer. I reassembled and added fresh tranny oil.. Ran it for a few hundred and changed the oil.. Put another 20000 on it, changing at 5K. Oil came out clean.. Tranny shifted fine..

The gears look ok from here...

But I will pull the gearset because there is a lot of ground up dipstick goop in there.

This is exactly why everyone should own at least 3 motorcycles....

And a table lift...
