Sudden Hard Shifting
#41
I would say my stock TCb has a 0.100.
I run 1/2 turn back off from a snug no play that I find levering the clutch lever.
Then about 1/32" of cable free play checked at both locks of the bars.
A dog driven Harley transmission needs some windage drag from the transmission fluid to shift properly. If not , the dogs won't drop in.
Be interesting to see how polishing the clutch hub so the disk slide easy.
I have only seen two others besides mine. A Roadking and another Fatboy that had a 6 speed.
Ever one of there clutch plates were pretty snug in those slots. They had that Belville cup damper to break the inner ones.

So if I'm reading this correctly, the plate lift isn't excessive?
Also by polishing the fingers and slots in the hub and basket I don't believe I could have removed much material. In my mind tighter tolerances would be an issue with release.
