Hi, i have a fatboy 2017 TC103 with a starter issue.

Sometimes when the starter is turning the engine, it makes a noise like two gears scraping. The starter has been overhauled and the battery replaced. All good but noise remains.Does anyone have any idea what that noise could be?It doesn't always happen. Riding the bike is normal. Sorry for my English, it's rusty hehe

 

I'd check the compensator. A worn compensator will be noisy when starting. But if it gets really bad you usually hear it when turning the engine off too.
