Installing a new S&S inner bearing race and having trouble getting it on the shaft in right position. I think I might have gotten one that has not been milled correctly. I can only get it to go on the shaft about 5/16 away form the sprocket shaft. Any thoughts?
S&S make two very different races!

If your working on a first year six speed that has never been updated or rebuilt you have the correct part,
Check the shaft measurements it will be.9850 then you have shaft # 35467-06
might want to call S&S to inquire about the distance from end spline to outer face of race, you go too far your going to stress it and crack it!
not sure what your using to measure the distance you should be using a Torque wrench to seat the race on the main shaft taper to 35 foot pounds
560-0241 2008-up
if your trans was rebuilt and the shaft was replaced like so many were using part #
35467-08 or 35467-06B they measure .9765”

it’s a 03 Electra Glide and I will have to get a set of micrometers to check my shaft but to my knowledge it’s still stock 5 speed. I don’t think it was an upgraded shaft

What model/ year bike and which SnS race? Stock tranny? If it's not going on with the right tools you probably don't have the right one.. The fit should be abou 1/2 to 1 thou interference. One sleeve is about 0.008 smaller than the other. It won't go on.
so my shaft is .990 the one side of the S&S race is .982 and the opposing side is .948 so I think I found the problem
