Unless the chain is extremly over tight you really will not notice much just from the outside. It will acellerate wear on your complete primary drive system is why you do not want it to tight. To loose and the bike will try to "lash" or "jerk" when first giving throtal. If it gets to loose it will go to slapping the primary cover. Its not really rocket science to adjust one. You just need some give to the chain but do not want it sloppy. The 1/2 you have is close. 5/8-7/8 cold is what it calls for. Some times it seems one notch is to loose and the other to tight. I side to the loose side all things equal. I thank you will be fine as long as you were not straining to get that 1/2inch. I have never heard the term "feels tight" in ref to primary but would assume if chain was way over tight it would cause increased drag rolling the bike in nutral. [sm=confused06.gif]

You'll also get premature wear on the shoe if it's too tight

Itoo have never heard of the bike feeling tight, but I do know that rolling the bike in neutral will not turn the primary drive system.
