Default M8 Clutch: Adjusted clutch, but then changed clutch cable to shorter. Do I need to re-adjust the clutch again?

On the M8's, they have that new, weird plastic clutch coupling assembly. So you can just swap out the clutch cable at that coupling up to the handlebars vs from the clutch itself up to the handlebars. BUT, does that mean that removable portion would necessitate clutch adjustment if it's swapped out?

I had the stock handlebars on with stock clutch cable. I adjusted the clutch during normal maintenance, at the actual clutch plate behind the derby cover. Then, new handlebars came in, so I swapped them out, and changed the "upper" portion of the clutch cable along with it, to a shorter one. Would I need to re-adjust the clutch for the new, shorter cable, or would the current clutch adjustment stay the same regardless of cable length?

The center adjuster in the clutch hub does not need to be readjusted. You'll still need to set free play in the cable correct.

Yeah I took a test ride without adjusting the clutch itself and everything seemed fine. And I just happened to land the free play just right when I set the spring, so I think I'm completely good to go.

Thanks!

That new style clutch cable adjuster is pretty much self adjusting.

Yeah took me awhile to figure out wtf I was looking at, then was mad about all the plastic and springs, but then found it to actually be pretty easy to deal with lol
