Primary/Transmission/Driveline/ClutchFind answers to general powertrain, primary and transmission. Have clutch issues and need suggestions? Post them here.
I know I know, this question has been asked more then a few times but I’m still confused. I went to 12” t bars on my ‘15 street bob which resulted in what I thought was a simple reroute of my clutch cable. Now with everything back together the bike acts like it’s in neutral. Doesn’t move forward in first at all. Only thing I touched was the adjuster on the middle cable under the rubber boot in order to get more slack so I could pull the clutch cable off at the lever side. Any help in simple terms is greatly appreciated!
Start by doing a full clutch and cable adjustment. Next would be to check the clutch ramp to make sure the ball bearings are in place and didn't fall out when you slacked up on the cable.
If a cable adjustment doesn't fix, you're probably going to need a longer cable b/c I'm guessing it's stretched beyond adjustment so clutch is slipping (thinks it's engaged).
