The Ultima six speed is a close ratio box with a 2.94 first gear. My 93 five speed had a 3.24 first gear. Unfortunately I don't remember the tooth count on the tranny sprocket or pulley but what I did was change the final drive ratio so that first gear with the six speed was the same ratio as the five speed in first gear. This made first gear very usable and lowered the speed that sixth gear can be used at.

I put a Rev Tec 6 speed in my FXSTC back in 1998. It took out the vibration and was able to cruise interstate easily at 90mph. I have 82k on the bike and about 71k on the trans. Best thing I ever did for myself, it makes those 400 mile days so much easier.

I had the RevTech 6 speed gearset slid in a couple of years ago when I first got my bike used. They had done some changes to the bike and while it was a bear with vibration stock, the changes made it worse. The 6 speed was a blessing!

Last year I installed a Jims 89" stroker kit, some new heads, new cam, Ness Big Sucker and 2 into 2 duals. Now with that 6 speed, I can cruise the freeways at 80-85 and STILL see the CHP sneaking up behind me in the mirrors!

It was DEFINITELY worth the money! And I agree with someones comment, I have the same problem, just because I have the 6th gear doesn't mean I have to use it. It is only really good above 65MPH. But after that, it is awesome!

had been several months now, still love it! its become natural now, i just shift into 6th when i need too. what a joy, no more trying to grab another gear on the highway and have it not be there!

if you dont have one yet, do it. it is worth it.
