Whining and clunking coming from primary !!
1997 sportster xlc1200 46000 miles. so I was getting off the highway the other day and I noticed a clunking noise. So I pulled off the side of the road and check what it was and I noticed it was coming from the primary I figured it was my primary chain loose bouncing around. Luckily I wasn't too far from my house so I just took it home tightened up the chain to its proper spec with about a half an inch of play but this didn't solve the problem. Now when I fire it up throw it in first gear I start to engage the clutch and I hear a whining noise coming from the primary with no real engagement I immediately shut it off and roll it back to where I store it at even with the engine shut off as I roll it back I'm still hearing a clunking noise in sequence as the wheels turn I was doing some research and found that it may possibly be a primary bearing that has gone bad but I honestly have no idea I don't have the most experience so if anybody has any suggestions for me please let me know
