Default Sporty Clutch Pack Replacement

I have a 2001 1200C Sporty that has nearly 49k miles and it had the original factory installed clutch pack until this past weekend. I changed the plates with Barnett part #'s 307-30-10011 (extra plate Kevlar kit) and 502-00-01081 (spring). The clutch is heavier but so far it has worked out well. The Harley spring plate was still in good condition but it was not reused since the Barnett kit does not use it. A small screw driver worked best when taking the clip off. Also, the Motion Pro tool worked well. The picture without the compression tool shows the Barnett kit installed.

Clutch cable broke! It's still connected at the handle. Was I supposed to upgrade the cable?

That shouldn't be necessary. You have an opportunity to upgrade your cable, which will help offset the extra affort of pulling it in. Barnett make a super cable, as do H-D - I have one of their Diamondbacks.

I took the inspection plate off and found the Barnett Diaphragm Clutch Spring broken in several pieces! What the heck could cause that?

Damn!!! they must have tempered it wrong. My only other thought was if you over tightened the clutch tool to get the clip in and cracked it. I would call the Mfg and send them pics. I hope you get all of the pieces out.

Default Took primary cover off again..

It looks like the retaining ring got loose! The Barnett diaphragm spring looks ok. When I pulled the cover off the retaining ring dropped into the oil pan.
