WHY no check for primary

I don't understand what is wrong wit the seeing the oil is at the bottom of the basket here.. I've blown the front plug on the alternator and had oil dripping for 1400 miles.. Made one heck of a mess but when done, I'd only lost about a cup.. Bike marked it spot just like an old panhead. You really aren't going to hurt anything thing until there is not enough oil for the clutch basket ring gear pick anything up.. Only way you could loose oil faster and not notice would be to drop the drain plug while out on the road..
