Which replacement belt to buy?

I ran a 1972 Sportster with a Karata made Gilmer-style belt for nearly 100,000 miles; never popped a belt. Ran a 1978 FLH with a Primo belt for over 200,000 miles; popped one belt at about 60,000 or so. Have been running a Primo on a 1987 FLST for about 100,000 miles; thinned a belt when I put the alternator cover in backwards - still can't figure out how I managed that one, LOL! I did not have to do any modifications to the '72 XLCH or the '78 FLH. Had to do some grinding on the '87 Sloptail inner primary to give clearance so the belt wouldn't rub once everything was warmed up. Installed correctly they are reliable, transmit more power, and ease vibration. Plus there is zero maintenance and it never will leak, LOL!
Who made the belt conversion kit for your bike? BDL, Primo, Karata, Phase 3, or ??? It looks to have the stock HD clutch, which most early kits used. If the belt you got with the bike is the wrong one, what about it is wrong? Was it too wide, too long, or ??? That would help start in locating a correct replacement.
