Most common problems with 08 RK transmission?
Still in process of installing transmission. Oil has metal flakes and when I turn shaft I hear noise. Bad bearing? Ebay seller said mileage was close to 60k, which really can be 100k or more.
Thanks.
Thanks.

More than likely the main drive bearing is disintegrating. Baker has a newer redesigned bearing that i HIGHLY recommend using and is about 3 weeks away from being available to purchase. The factory is a dual row ball bearing and the Baker is a dual row tapered bearing, tapered bearings have more contact on the surfaces when compared to ball bearings. Baker announced this new bearing two days after I installed the Harley bearing and gear back into my transmission case. The ball bearing in this location is not ideal at all, thinking that the vibration kills the bearing at idle when the bike is stopped due to the tiny surface contact of the ***** and the displacement of lubrication. (Can also look into a trapdoor with upgraded bearings and possibly the Baker Smooth Shift Kit.)
Pull primary and inner primary bearing, remove exhaust, remove transmission sensors, remove transmission dipstick, remove trapdoor with gears still attached. Remove main drive gear, remove bearing, then reverse everything and button her up.
