i have a 2012 streetglide with 14000 miles on it. For a time I thought an exhaust leak was my problem, but fixed that and the issue still remains.

Here is my problem I notice when I'm in fifth gear only and I'm cruising along around 60 mph and I go into wide open throttle the engine revs up from around 3000 to 4500 RPM without any corresponding increase in speed. I'm thinking maybe my clutch is slipping, but can't figure out why it wouldn't just do that in all the gears if that was the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Does it do it in 6th? If a clutch is going to slip it will do it in the highest gear first.

 

It does but not as noticeable as in 5th gear.

 

If it's the clutch it will do it in 6th just as much. I'll venture a guess that if you get it up to the same rpm range in 6th it will slip.
