Default Black Chrome

I have a 2014 black denim street glide special. I would like to have all the chrome pieces black chromed. Does anybody have any experience with this? Will it hold up on the exhaust shields? Does anybody know of any reputable companies that provide this service and do a quality job?

Thank you for any input!

Hello,

Our shop offers black chrome plating. Please visit our website and have a look at our Black Chrome page under the "finishes" tab. Send us an email if you would like more info and pricing.

is "black chrome" really the same as standard chrome?
How difficult is it to do over aluminum?

It is the same process for the first 20 or so steps. The last stage of plating is different. Be advised that there are a lot of companies that offer a "PVD" coating which is marketed as black chrome. PVD is not the same as black chrome plating, it is closer to Powder Coating.

I wish I had stumbled across you when I was looking since I was not able to find anyone to black chrome on my Porsche's exhaust tips, so I went with satin black powder-coat. Anyway, what can you do to raw aluminum wheels? If I had an easy way to care for and protect them I would be inclined to do so but living on the beach takes its toll on metal!
