Default large scratches on screaming eagle exhause

hi all,

Please see the pictures. My bike was dropped (before I bought it) and this is how the exhaust looks. Pretty scratched up. I got the stock exhausts from the old owner, but I dont want to put chorme ones back on them which is my cheapest option, and I cant afford to buy new black ones.

I like the screaming eagle black ones I have, but is there any way to touch up/get them painted? how much will that cost?

Thanks for the responses.

Try Rust-oleum High Heat BBQ Black aerosel. From your pic it looks like it would be a good match. I've used it to touch up my SuperTrapp system. Sand it and feather in the scratches. Another option is the VHT brand. You may have to experiment with different paints to get the right shade and sheen.

i would hit them with a sanding disk and re coat them personally, would all but vanish, if you paint them i sugest shooting some samples to see what matches the closest or masking them so that it looks like the stock finsih fades into the new paint

Thank you folks for the responses.

Here is another thing I found, without having to replace the exhaust.. or having the paint it..
Please look at the link below:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...uffler-shields

These muffler shields.. isnt this what I need to replace on my bike? or add on my bike to hide/get rid of the scratches

I am actually confused if I already have a shield and the scratches are on the sheild and not the exhaust itself...
How does it look from the picture?

Your exhaust has heat shields on the head pipes only. The muffler shields will only partially cover the slip ons/mufflers. The end with the worst scratches wouldn't be covered.
