Default Paint wheels or powder coat.

Ok so I am new here and admittedly a little lazy since its late... I have a quick question that I am sure has been already answered but here goes anyway. I have an 08 fat bob and I am debating on coloring my wheels black and just out of curiosity looking for input from the forum members about the overall opinion would be. Paint or powder coat??

powder is more impact resistant in my opinion. I have painted wheels and powder coated as well, it seems to stand up better. now-a-days you can get nearly any color you can imagine. humble opinion of a diy kind of guy. hope it helps.

I agree, powder coat is going to be way more durable. Now you have me thinking of doing mine. Thanks a lot! $$$

Powder coating is teh best way to go as it is more durable than regular paint. This kind of stuff becomes an issue when you get your tires changed.

Are there any parts that you have seen that don't powdercoat well?

really on a HD the only parts that can give a coater hell are the rear pulleys, even outgass cycles and primer at times will not always get them perfect, this is all HD pulleys on all makes and models... some are 100% fine while others are nightmares, but we of course still do them

Use PlastiDip to get you through the summer. Stuff holds up like a champ and will only run you $20...plus, you get to see and make sure you like the look before you send them to Joe over at Powder Pros for the powder work to get done!

I thought about the PlastiDip option but the few times Ive used it on carp parts it didnt hold up for ****, but the plus to it is that you can just peel it off.
