On the right side of my tank there is an inch and a half in diameter mass pushing up on the paint and a bubble in the paint about the size of a dime. I was told by the previous owner that a local shop repaired the tank in 2004 after it was dropped in their shop. Im guessing that the hard know under the paint is bondo that is pulling away from the tank? Please advise what i should do!

 

I'd source another tank from somebody here or FleaBay. Even if I had to have it painted. I mean you're gonna have to do that anyway so why not just go a little further and fix it for good.

 

That's the reason I bought a new tank & didn't fix the dent in mine. I didn't wanna bother with possibility of filler popping loose after I have tank repainted. I've read that with the tank getting hot & cold causes bondo to pop loose. Now I have a nice tank on top my entertainment center.
