Default Painting.... Little to no experience, would you?

Got my Reckless fairing last week & am considering giving it a whirl. Crimson Red Sunglow paint, tri-color. Have any of you done it? I haven't painted anything since high school (30 years) but am considering it...Maybe. What say you...

If you have all the equipment to do it, and want to try it I say go for it. I'm sure we have all wasted money on other things. But at least you will learn something new ( maybe a new hobby).

Thanks for the replies. I haven't even checked pricing yet as funds are tight but I've played a little bit with painting in high school but that was many many years ago. I suppose I'm just being cheap but it would be cool to get into painting.......Decisions decisions!

If you're inexperienced at painting I wouldn't start with a tri-color. Unless you're not really concerned about it being a good match. It's just one more step that needs to be done right or the color will be off.

Just FYI just for 1 pint kit of the paint and 1 Qt reducer from PPG would be $201.40 before tax Mixed In DBC

64384, 8R61 / 918333 - CRIMSON RED SUNGLO

If you could get this done for under $200 would be the Best bet hands down.

OK I looked a lil deeper and the base can be mixed in as little as 2 ounces but the midcoat has a 10 Ounce minimum mix

so you could bring the price down a lil bit by ordering less than a pint of each so for 10oz kit with 1 qt reducer would be $134.25

just some real world prices to ponder.

But at least you will learn something new.Paint is very important thing in every car or motor cycle maker.and there are many colors that are available in the market.and i think that any auto is very good looking when it is cover with paint.
