Don't bother with all that. If it's Denim Black, go to your local John Deere tractor supply and ask for a rattle can of "Blitz Black". Painted my entire bike including touch-up of the tank with it and you cannot tell the difference. Turned my buddy on to it who has a Electraglide Standard and he touched up his fairing and saddlebags with the rattle can...was amazed when he could not tell where he had just painted. If you want the ultimate durability they have the paint in quarts plus a hardener for conventional spraying.

 

Thanks for the info, Rick, but the bike is denim blue not black. It seems no one but Harley has this paint.

 

There is a "agent" that is added to the paint that gives it the Denim look. I have yet to find what this agent is, but it can be added to any paint to give this effect.

 

I understand there is also an eggshell clear coat, but honestly I don't know much about paint other then what I learned painting an old tractor.
