Playing around with Plasti Dip

Playing around with Plasti Dip
For those of you who do not know me personally I take A LOT of pride in modifying motorcycles without letting the dealer or paint booth get in my pocket. I give them plenty of my money so I like to do as much as I can on my own.
I sold my highly custom RK a few months ago to get back into track racing (sport bikes.) I had been sad ever since.
A few days ago I picked up a 2010 WG. The paint was swirled and rough. Fixed that with a buffer and a few beers. Last night went to town on my battery band, shocks, bullet lights and forks. This Plasti Dip stuff is pretty cool. We will see how it holds up.
This weekend I will be doing the upper trees, cow bell and other bits. On with the pictures or "It did not happen!"

Is this PlastiDip stuff a paint or is it an actual plastic coating of some type? I'm getting some rock dings on the front of my trike fenders and am not a big fan of the clear plastic "bras" you see on cars. If this stuff is chip-resistant, maybe spraying a small area on the lower fronts of my fenders might be an option.

I just started to play around myself with this. I did the front saddle bag guards yesterday. Came out pretty good. Smoother then I thought it would be. Im going to do the latches today while im at work. It goes on smooth as someone mentioned, as long as you do light coats. Make sure you do like 3 or more coats too. The more you have, the less likely it will come off in small pieces.
cheers,
