anyone powdercoat the heat shields on the vance and hines pipes?

would they get too hot or would it not be an issue

I was just signing on here to post a similar question, wondering about high temp powdercoat on my heat shields and muffler canister. I called Jet Hot Coatings and with shipping, the cost for them exceeds the purchase price of my exhaust, so they not an option for me.

Talk to JRK5892 on the forums he can do it. I used DEI Hi Temp silicone coating in a rattle can on mine (Big Shots) and it turned out good and haven't had any issues with well over a 1,000 miles on since I did it.

we coat shields all the time bud!!!
here are some coated in regular powder

high temp powder looks completely different than reg powder, here is 1200* after being in use at full temp... as you can see the color change is drastic

before operation

after use at full temp (you can see part final cures at full operational temp)

and a set of headers we shot in high temp

For those that have coated or seen heat shields coated, any issues? I'm wondering if the powder coating will look hazy after several rides???
