Default question to the painters!!!

Ok i just started painting an im just figuring it out a LITTLE..
So my question to yall is why can you rattle can something today 2012 and it look so differnt then when you used a rattle can in 2005 or 1995 is the then new paints or the spray tips or what? And if your willing to do the sanding after you paint does it matter about the brand of spray gun???

well I don't know much in the ways of rattle cans, but to address your brand of spray gun. I say if you like sanding buy a cheap gun if you want it to look nice when your done spraying and not have to sand buy a nice gun. hope that clears things up.

I totally agree. I'm a painter by trade and can verify that all those brands of guns are top notch. They also offer guns that (for the lack of a better expression) are on the lower end of the scale. For primer or single stage paint and they're probably better suited for solid colors, not metallics, micas or pearls. That's my thoughts on it. Other painters here may disagree with me but that's how I've always approached matters like this.

Since you are just starting to experiment with painting, I recommend an economic and easy to operate gun such as SHARPE as seen in this photo. You can use this one gun for different materials and the results will look great once you learn how to paint. We use SATA spray guns that cost over $450 each, but these are professional grade tools that you might want to get once you gain some more experience.
Good Luck & have fun

Ya I would love to recommend a gun to you but all I use are SATA guns

Primer - SATA 100B RP 1.6
Base - SATA 3000 Digital HVLP 1.3
Clear - SATA 3000 Digital RP 1.3 or 1.4 depending on clear
Touch up - SATA Minijet 4 HVLP 1.0SR
