Default Paint pro in NC/SC/GA area

I still need my inner fairing painted in Big Blue Pearl. All those I've spoke with say they either can't get the paint or its in excess of $300 a pint despite it being available at colorrite.com for much, much less. Looking for someone who is willing to do the work as I have a fairing just laying in wait. Thanks!

The color is available from PPG for around $275.00 per pint. this is just the midcoat as for the PPG formula is a tricoat paint and needs to be painted over black.

the colorrite paint is also a tricoat and will cost $250 for a pint kit also not sure how this is much, much less.

If you bought the paint, Any bodyshop could apply it for you for a fee or course. if you lived closer to Wisconsin I would be more than happy to paint it for you.

Hell, you're right. The 124ish number I was quoted over the phone today is just for the top coat, not including the base. Called a dealership here and they told me this nonsense I was just spouting about colorrite.com being cheaper. To their credit, they were suggesting I paint my fairing instead of buy one from them because it would be cheaper.
Does anyone think I'm crazy for just buying one from the dealer? I'm going with PYO mirrors on my Wild 1 handlebars so I think just starting off with an electa glide fairing without the holes to fill would likely have a longer more lasting product that doesn't show where the holes were filled over time.

what's the cost of a painted inner?

just for giggles lets run some numbers I will use PPG products for this. and lets say we will use a stock inner fairing bare plastic. and $20.00hr(we know shop rate will be around $35-50.00) but I am going off my prices

1. We will need to sand/scuff fairing depending on texture time .5hrs $10.00
2. can of bulldog adhesion promoter $15.00 application time 20min $5.00
3. Primer/hardener 8oz sprayable $22.36 application time .5hr $10.00
4. sanding of primer .5-1hr $10.00-20.00
5. clean with wax and grease remover $.50 and Tack rag $1.00
6. apply basecoat 3 coats 10 min flash each coat 30min $10.00 1 pint base $59.00 1 pint reducer $10.00
7.tack and apply 3 coats midcoat 10 min flash each 30min $10.00 1 pint Midcoat $275.00 1 pint reducer $10.00
8. tack and apply 2-3 coats Clear 8oz of Clearcoat $18.96 30min application time
9. wet sand and buff 1hr $25.00 (includes sandpaper and compound)

Material cost $416.82 granted most of us painters will only use a few ounces to paint an inner fairing but the midcoat is only available in 1 pint this is why for this I just kept it at a pint. yes you will have about 20oz of each Base and Midcoat left over. which is worth about $221.25
labor cost $105.00
total cost $521.82

Now if you can get the paint by the ounce total cost would be $300.57 to have it painted. So now you have some real world numbers to help you make your decision to buy a painted one or to have it painted.

Problem solved. I'm a few hours from home at another military base doing some training for a few months. There's a guy 10 minutes from where I'm couped up that does all the HD paint work in this area and came highly recommended from two different HD dealers between here and my home. He's going to knock it all out for 250, to include filling the holes where fairing mounted mirrors used to mount (going with PYO power mirrors on my Wild 1's). What a relief just to know a pro is going to have this bad boy done in 10 days!
