how to remove chrome
I have a few parts on my shovelhead that has some bad looking chrome that i want to paint. does anyone know how to remove it?

Hhydrochloric acid.
Sand blasting may be more feasible.

throw it out the window doing 60 MPH that should do it..
Just kidding check out a plateing shop they can help or head you in the right direction

I've always had good luck with glassbeading and a good cleaning. If you don't have access to a glasbead cabinet, red scotchbrite works just as well, but more work. Good luck!

From personal experience, do NOT sandblast aluminum parts. It is way too aggressive.
