Default Powder coat quality question

So I got my new rear fender powder coated and I am not happy with the finished product. It has kind of a orange peel finish to it. I wasn't expecting it to be as smooth and glassy as paint, but it is really wavey looking. I have had some other small parts PC'ed in the past and never really noticed this.

Is this normal or to be expected when a large piece is powder coated or did this guy just not know what he was doing? I was expecting it to at least come remotely close to looking like paint. What do you think? Can a good powder coater get a "paint like" finish?

Thanks,
GS

here is a sample of some of our powder coated tins... it is not easy to do but we specialize in custom coatings and take pride in our ability to lay powder to the point where peopel have no idea it is powder not paint... if you coater just blasted and coated your fender there is no way you will get results like this

Any idea what you would charge? The fender is the size of a nightster/iron fender. Also, how much do you charge to do a sportster tank?

That blue denim color in the 8th picture from the top is siiiiiick.

Thanks
