Default how thick is powder?

I had my 1-1/4 apes powder coated gloss black last year. I recently purchased a grooved dual throttle cable clamp from arlen ness (03-172) which fits 1-1/4. Well it doesn't fit and when i tried to put it on, I only scratched the powder on the bars. do you guys have any recommendations? Should I try to muscle it in? How much thicker are the bars after powder? Should I get 1-1/2 clamp?

Thanks a million!

1.5-2 thousanths (if layed right) i would just shave out a bit of the clamp with some sand paper

my .02 Id start around a 300 grit until you get it to fit. then smooth it out with a 1500 or 2000 wet sand. the piece you are sanding is aluminum?

ligit question they are percision machined typically.. i would hit with a dremil, does not have to be perfect... just toss some painters tape around the bars and you can test the fit wihtout scratching shiz up...
