Default Gloss black powder coated exhaust dulling

I had my shields and muffler powder coated gloss black. I orignally wanted high temp but ended up with regular. The problem though is that after 2 rides the shields near the exhaust ports are now dull black (no gloss) and the area near the muffler clamp is now dull black as well (again, no gloss). The other areas still have the gloss finish to them.

Is this caused by incorrect type of powder? (non poly maybe) Is the exhaust just too hot and should I have him recoat in high temp?

It's a pain in the *** and I'm tempted to just leave them on there..but it irks the hell out of me and if there is chance of it coming off and onto the bike...

Advice?

Also, just to add to the above, the exhaust is a Bub Lakester 2-1.

Thanks...

Powder is baked on about 400 degrees, your exhaust temp is higher then that. Should have used high heat on the pipes but I have not seen a gloss in that powder. Your shield should be ok though.

To clarify, it's only the Shields and muffler that are coated, not the headers. Could it be that the shields are getting to hot? Or is it just shitty powder?

Could be both honestly In my powdercoating shop I've noticed that if the powder isn't stored correctly it can dull when it's been on the product for a while. However my first guess would be that the powder used was not High temp or was not baked on correctly.

same thing happened to me. I had the shop strip off the gloss and do them in flat since the gloss would not hold
