Default OK to clear over all the HD tank decals?

Excuse me if this sounds like a rookie question but I am an automobile painter/body man. I am wanting to change the color on my RKC and while I am doing it, I want to choose a new tank decal (HD).

I just want to make sure I have this right. I apply my color coats, then the decals, then the clearcoat right over the top the decals?

TIA,
Jeff

I am also a paint/body man. We have done several this way-successfully. Just use adhesion promoter.

You can do it that way. I usually spray a few light coats over the decal before really laying the coats on, I guess it's an old habit from spraying lacquer which would lift and wrinkle the decals up.
