My o/l tried to do me a favor during love bug season a few months
ago we went for a ride and got love bugs bad on the fairing .Before
I went back out to clean the bike she took a sove cleaner to the fairing
and now the clear coat is a little dull. The paint is fine can just the
clear coat be redone.

 

If it's just dull you can get some polishing compound and a buffer and bring the shine back. If it ate into the clear and did some damage you might have to wet sand it first but just try buffing before that.

If you are doing this with the fairing still on the bike. Cover up as much of the bike as possible with a blanket to keep from flinging polishing compound all over the bike, it's tends to go everywhere while your polishing.
