Default Process we use to coat Tins

this fender is a forum members getting done in gloss black... here is where we are at (doing it as i type this so it will have to be updated as i go)

first blasted the fender down...
then a coat of primer and block it down (still not perfect you can see)


another coat of primer and blocked and now she is smoooooth


then the base coat goes on... here it is in black just needs clear (yes it is a cell pic sorry)




clear is on the fender now... more pics to come

clear is on and wet sanding has started... calling it quits for the day though... more updates tomorrow

What do you use for a primer. I was told regular primer wouldn't hold up to the heat of the oven. Or is the guy BSing me?

Might be crzy but...do you prime-bake, prime-bake, base color-bake then clear and bake.

yes sir...




-free with an oven this big man we can bake alot of brownies

How does the gloss level that you obtain compare in quality to what Harley obtains from the factory? I've owned a couple of new black Harleys over the past decade and the quality looked awesome

Joe can you wax that like paint when done and buff if need be?
