Default Anyone do pinstriping?

Just wondering if anyone else in the softail section does pinstriping? I am just getting into it. Right now I am just working on different brush strokes on glass to get the feel for the brush. If nothing else its kind of fun.

I have been wanting to but have not done it yet. Maybe this year...The thing about pin striping that gets me is the fact taht it is symmetrical. I avhe a tought time making a symmetrical design. What are you using brush and paint wise? Post a link to where you got it please.

I am using 1 shot paint, which seems to be about the standard, As for brushes, I got a Mack 00 series 20 and I ordered a couple other "signature series" from a dude on ebay who is supposed to be really good. The Mack I got from a paint store here for about 9 bucks. The signature ones were a few bucks more. I honestly like the Mack better. If you go onto ebay and search pinstriping brushes, the Macks come up for 7 bucks up to about 14. The Mack is one of the "standards" in the industry it seems. The 1 shot I got from an art store here. I just got black and grey for now since I am practicing on glass. I have not had to use any reducer on it as of yet. Some people say you should, but a lot of the old school guys say you should be able to use it right out of the can. If you can't then (according to them) you are doing something wrong when you are loading or palleting the brush.....The hardest part so far is learning to roll the brush while making tight turns....

Post some pics of your samples....I want to do the same. It means more when you do it yourself. that is a fact.

OK, Most of what I have done is just lines, to work on consitency. I did do one of my own last night, its not real good. I have been at it for a whole week. The lines are a bit shaky in some spots. I will post up a pic later....

OK, here is the pic....like I said, its only been about a week. And I know it isn't real good. But, I don't expect to be pulling lines like Kafka or the Wizard after only a week. I think my wife is gonna have Santa pick me up a "starter kit" which includes a DVD. Staying consistent and symetrical is about the hardest part....also joining the lines neatly can get ya too.

Looks like a good start to me. I've never thought about doing it myself until this thread. Looks to me like you've got some talent in the right side of the old noggin.
