I got a new fairing for the sportster and wanted to paint it to match the tank and fender but need to get some ideas for the red stripes. I've got the denim black paint from ColorRite so I'm not worried about the black part but the stripe might be an issue. If I can't find anything good enough I'll just paint it without the stripes but thought I'd ask you all first. Are the stripes something that needs to be painted on? Or are there decal/sticker type deals that I can stick on over the new paint, then spray entire thing down with clear coat (eggshell).

Upon scrolling down in the subforum I found someone else talking about 3M pinstripes so I looked some up.

Will 3M vinyl tape work for my application? Also do I lay it on after the paint and before the clear coat?

It'll work and last a good while. If you want it to really last put it under the clearcoat.
