Default Denim Paint, use windex with or without amonia?

When you all are cleaning your bikes with denim paint, are you using Windex with or without ammonia? I keep seeing both? Also, is anyone using a denim wax or any other type of protectant to help protect the paint, keep it easy to get the bugs off?

Thanks in advance!

Had a 2011 white hot denim for a couple years used Mothers soap to wash it and Harley Denim Paint cleaner between washes. Looked like new when I traded

I used no ammonia Windex. Going to try some Chemical Guys products, suppose to have UV protection.

What's wrong with using the HD brand Denim paint spray?? It's priced the same if not cheaper than some of the other brands for matte/Denim paint

I initially tried the HD cleaner for denim, Windex and a few others. Finally went with the matte finish cleaner from Chemical Guys and couldn't be happier. This stuff works great.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it, but it is a cleaner. Windex is 1/2 the cost. I'm trying some Chemical guys stuff as a protectant.

What about using windex on both the matte finish paint and on all the chrome pieces? Any adverse affects from using windex on chrome to keep it clean over time?

I use car wash soap without wax, and then turtle wax ICE for paint protection. It's a bit smeary, but I like the protection it provides. But, I'm new to the denim world and have only done this once, so I don't know if it will look bad over time so don't take my word for it

I've been using windex on chrome for 50 years, nothing shines better than "Clean" chrome.

For the Chrome I use Turtle Wax Chrome polish, though I think any Chrome polish that is safe for painted surfaces and polish aluminum will do. Then I use ICE on everything but the tires and brake discs. Plastic, leather, chrome, engine, all of it.
