How do you do this type of paint?

It's gotta by a foil or something you lay on the paint when wet and remove. You place it on and remove it. kinda like dapping it. But you lay it on gently then remove right after laying it on. Kinda like doing gold or silver leaf. But not leaving it on maybe??

I knew it was something like that. I was going to say paper or sponge. I love paint there are some many crazy things you can do. To bad I can't paint. I grew up watching my stepfather helping him wet sand, Bondo, mix paint, braze. I was young and he has long since been sick. Wish I could paint never learned. I Always run the paint

The important thing about painting is to keep moving in a uniformed pattern.
Give the paint time to flash off between (1.5min) coats & runs shouldn't be a problem.
Most custom finishes are from painters screwing up & trying to fix the problem. using short cuts.
Watch some vids on you tube & give it a try on some scrap parts.
Solid colors are easier to learn with. Metallics & candies take a little more experience & patience.
But the same basic form is used to apply them.
