Default Panhead rear brake, hydraulic

Hey everyone, new to this social stuff. The Ol Lady just got me a 1960 Flh, Bless her heart. We bought it not running, but had been restored( as they say) 12 years ago.. Changed the fluids, cleaned air filter, put in new plugs and started kicking. The starting procedure un the manual worked, and it fired up once I realized the gen was in the wrong position ! I'm working on rear brake now, as I went to bleed it, the bleeder valve fell out. My Question is, does the Valve thread into the backing plate or does it thread into the wheel cylinder housing. I would like to order parts before hand, if possible, so I have them when I take wheel off.I'm waiting on a jack delivery so I can get this done. My second question is are all the backing plates chrome, that is all I've been able to locate on the web so far.. Thanks, Bob

the bleader is in the wheel cylinder you need to remove the rear wheel first, unbolt the wheel from the hub with a large allen wrench, than remove the axle and assembly that will let you take the drum off than the brake shoes and the wheel cylinder -

Thanks for your reply, to make sure I'm understand correct, the bleeder valves threads are held by the wheel cylinder... Or does the valve tighten in the back plate.what exactly holds the valve? I can see that the bleeder valve is used as a stop for the fluid in the wheel cylinder, but without the wheel off, it looks like the valve screws into the backing plate. I may just wait until I get it off

OK when you look at the bleader area you have the bleader that screws into the wheel cylinder - the line attachment screws into the wheel cylinder - and the 2 bolts with the 7/16 heads are the attachnment bolts for the wheel cylinder its self to the backing plate, and that is the mount location for the wheel cylinder as a stay for the brake shoes - after you get the wheel off you will see it -- jz
