Okay I have a 61' FL that was a trike in its first life. (bent frame and trashed rearend) And now is on two wheels. Here are my problems..

1. As it was a trike to start off with, it is hand shift and foot clutch.. Now, while this is really cool.. It is also VERY hard to ride. (Running no front break, and take offs are a killer. And pray to god you don't get stoped on a hill.) I am hunting for a mousetrap to change it back over to hand clutch and foor shift. Anyone have any idea where I can find one? JP cycles has one for $233. But I'm die'n at the thought of spending that much for what is really not much more then a bracket and a spring.

2. I changed the bike over to 12 volt this last summer. But I am still running a points setup. I want to change it over. Any advice of where to look and what to get?

1. Instead of changing to a mousetrap, change to a police style rocker clutch and keep yer hand shift.
2. 12 volt auto advance distributor runs around $225.00 at J&P.

 

You really don't need a mousetrap.You can fab a tab to hold the clutch cable to the downtube,probably have to tack it on though.

I'm not sure which way you want to cange to.If electronic ignition is what you want, a magneto is cool or there are a few options that will fill the distributor.
