Starter relays were not offered until February, 1967. HD offered a retro fit kit (#71451-65) for earlier application. The Delco Remy relay was mounted you see mine. That was used until 1973 and MoCo went to a baseball size relay (don't know the brand) that was mounted under the left front side of the battery tray. Not sure when/what year they changed to the Bosch plug-in style for the FLH models but that was standard on my 84 FLH model and carried over until at least 1990 (just changed one out on my buddies stock 1990 FatBoy). Nice thing about the Bosch is that it is small and can be put just about anywhere you want, and they are cheap and easy to find.

Did finally paint the oil tank.. Bead blasted the insides of the battery covers and painted gray with Rustoleum. Outsides will clean up. Made some wiring clips out of 301 SS 3/4 wide 0.031" thick.. L to R for round sizes, 1 1/8 inch, 1 1/2 inch, 1 inch. Will probably make the smaller ones in 1/2 0.031" I had the 3/4 laying around.
