Been looking at the heads and rockers. On the heads the current stem protrusion without new guides and seats is 1.580-1.600. Spec'ed max is 1.550. What seats are you guys using?
Interestingly the valves are marked HD and the intakes are close to 0.377" on the unworn spots. The exhausts are about 0.373" which is what I''d expect. Was it standard for the intake to be that size oor are these oversized valve stem.. Measurement taken in the middle of stem. Ends near valve and keeper groove are worn over 0.002. The exhausts have visible scratches near the valve side on the stem.

The rocker assemblies are pretty much shoot. All the crap going through the motor killed them..
The shafts are worn down 0.002-0.005 inches from about 0.873" and all scratched up. Rocker ends need regrinding. I might be able to restore 1 set with a lot of work.. Could cut the tops and reem but most of the rockers are pretty much gone.
Are the V twin ones OK?

I couldn't find shovel valves (I know I have some new in the box) to mic, but my recollection is that intakes were closer to .375. The exhaust were smaller for the added stem clearance (about .0017 more than the intake). The HD manual I have does not list stem size, only the fit in the guide. I don't recall OEM oversize stems, but it could be. I primarliy used either Manley or Kibblewhite.
