Pan Shovel rebuild 3

Are you running hydraulic lifters or solids - that line location is fine for solid lifters but it will starve hydraulic lifters as its after the blended mix between the lower unit and lifter passages - the drilling the factory did limits oil flow - its not a direct oil pressure location
and you have an early pump ending in 1980 that was designed for hydraulics and a side oiling pinion shaft like your motor has < that’s fine it will work
A - Tee - at the oil pressure switch for the light and the top end is the correct location and feed for what your doing with hydraulic lifters

I started with hydraulic lifters with that exact line (in braided hose, not copper) and it was fine with the original panhead oil pump for 62. Went to solid lifters and am now going back to hydraulics again, never had a problem and certainly do not anticipate one now. You would not want direct oil pressure there because it would end up in the combustion chamber and cause smoking.
Interesting that you call that an early oil pump, because it is the later oil pump in my book relative to the original panhead pump for 1962, this later shovel oil pump is part of the mods for this build and I look forward to seeing a commensurate improvement in performance (double the quantity of oil I am led to believe).

Well ok then
you replaced the oil pump and your using the same location as before with hydroulics now in two changes pump and lifters
just a passing note iron pumps deliver more oil then alloy pumps not pressure FLOW
at a stop light and hot if you hear the lifters or what sounds like lifters it might be valve guides to valve lubracation
but what do i know — in the end i hope it works as planned
PS - every hyd lifter harley engine gets full line pressure to the lifters and top end but the top end is jetted so its a fire hose in delivery
that. Might be a different thing then you understand about the oiling system in a harley
