It's designed for those terminals that have two separate sets of tabs, one crimps around the insulation and another two that crimp the copper wire which is why it has the steps. If I just use the smaller side of the jaw it works great on the straight tube connectors whether its a butt connector or a terminal of some kind.

Milestone today!

Last night I trued the wheels, did the bearings and set end play. Today I installed the tires at a friends shop then spent some time this afternoon pulling the tail light wires through the fender - that was a joy and on went the wheels.

The front tire gap on these bikes is an acquired taste I think, Im not a huge fan but I dont hate it, Im hoping it settles down enough that Im more accepting but I love the rest especially the rear fender and how the tire is tucked in, looks cool.

I am thinking that gap may be needed to provide room for wheel travel when the springs are compressed, the wheel looks like it would and should follow a slight upward and forward arch. I may be way wrong probably am.But I just want to say that bike is amazing the work you have done is absolutely stunnning.

No you're right about the wheel travel. Getting a fender to look good on a springer front end is a challenge for sure and on the newer springers the mounted the fender on an elaborate link bar setup so it followed the wheel. As much as I dont like the look, anything different would be wrong and bug me for that reason.

WoW your bike is looking mighty fine , I can only imagine the time you have so far invested.

It will be a very proud experience to get on that , and ride around .

Coming along nicely but I'd have to add the stainless muffler cover.
