Trans top shift lever 180'd and kicker arm binding solved. Rear fender on just to have a look, I'll lift it off and put the harness in, tail light and tip. The phone camera changes the blue a bit, might try my real camera to see if there is a difference.

I look at the last bpic and the first thing that comes to mind is Kenny Wayne Shepherd singing, "Blue on Black".

That is going to be a great color combination.

I had the fender off a few times to make some adjustments and now Im happy with how it fits. I decided Im going to do the wiring, light and tip with the fender on rather than wrestle with it on a blanket and then put it back on. Aligning it was a pain and I dont feel like going through that again.

Rear stand and crash bars were refinished when I bought the bike but after looking them over they aren't as good as I would like, so I'm going to redo those this week.

Made some good progress this evening. Gotta lace the wheels up and get some tires.

Aftermarket dual leading shoe front brake, wrong but I might live longer.

Putting that front fender on by myself was stressful but not a mark on it thankfully.

Trim fit nicely as well.

Those are some serious front brake shoes.

Very nice!
Thanks for taking the time to document the transformation. Gives the rest of us hope for our own projects.
Always amazing to see these projects come together at this level. EVERYTHING is clean and fresh -- like new!

I had to go back to the beginning to remind myself where you started with this one, amazing work as always!!!!

You should buy a beer for the guy that convinced you to paint the bike BLUE instead of black, looks so damn good.

I think I owe him a few for pushing me that way lol. Couldn't be happier with the choice!

I love the fresh look too. It'll almost be a shame to use it which is the downside to restoring anything. It'll never look this fresh again once I hit the road with it.

If you have Jay Leno money, you just restore it again in 10 years.
