Tanks are sealed so I can move forward with paint.

Sealer? What type?

Those insides came outy perfectly

Have you installed the fuel shut-off rod to make sure it is aligned properly?

The local rad shop has it done. The tanks are acid cleaned (blasted inside if necessary) then coated with this sealer. I can try to find out what the actual material is but my guess is an epoxy of some sort. Doesn't look it in the pics but its glossy and smooth. They said to remove it requires multiple acid baths. Im going to do the 46 tanks next.

I haven't checked the fuel shut off alignment yet.

Had the 3-1/2 gallon tanks on my 65 cleaned and sealed. Looks similar to the liner that is inside them as well.

Wanted to test fit the NOS rear fender, no surprises there, just having the fender on gives me a good visual of the assembled bike and its the rear fender / wheel relationship that I love most about these bikes.

Decided to tackle the sidecar frame and sourced a floor mat with what I think is correct through amazon, it's just a rubber mat with small grooves in it. I have the original mat that was folded in half probably before I was born and lets just say it didn't unfold again when I tried. It's still a great reference for whats correct and where they terminated it past the foot rest.

Solid bushings in the springs which I didn't expect, everything is over-built and it all came apart without heat or force. I'll add pics of the frame later, didn't take any at this time. Im pretty sure I have all of the hardware for the sidecar except Im missing one common sense fastener for the cover. Need to look for those. Next week the sidecar frame and all related parts will be blasted.

Those springs, shackles and bushings look to be in fantastic shape.

They are, I'm very lucky. I plan to paint the springs assembled to avoid a really crappy process. I only hope I dont get rust dust creeping out between them after the bike has been in use for a bit.

We have drowned them in rust bust penna oil then with a damp wd40 rag just wipe it down when cleaning the bike - not as much as one might think
